About Tom Woiwode
Tom has been teaching real estate salesperson and broker per-license classes for over 14 years, and has been the director of The Academy for Real Estate Education and Consulting since 1999. He is a member of GREEA, the Georgia Real Estate Educators Association. In addition to pre-license education, he has written and taught a multitude of continuing education classes for post graduate career enhancement.

Background
Tom is from Illinois. He moved to Georgia as a Registered Nurse and worked in critical care and trauma services. His passion for teaching was developed as a clinical instructor of nursing students in the critical care and emergency services area of hospitals. He has traveled extensively as a registered nurse, working in some of the largest teaching hospitals in the country. Tom inactived his nursing license in 2013 and no longer practices nursing. In 1999, he moved from healthcare to real estate. He obtained his license and initially specialized in the sale of foreclosure and distressed properties. He transferred his passion for teaching in healthcare to real estate by becoming a licensed real estate instructor in 2003. Tom is married to Christy, his wife of 25 year. They have 4 children.

Current Position
Tom is currently the co-owner, with his wife Christy, of a large, nulti-office, multi-state brokerage. In his real estate career, he has overseen in excess of 20,000 real estate transactions. He no longer sells real estate, but rather focuses on new agent training and development.

Community Service
Tom currently serves on the Savannah-Chatham Metropolitan Planning Commission Board of Directors as the Treasurer, and the Savannah Multi-List Corporation Board of Directors as the Secretary.
